Catchphrase for the 100th Anniversary of Naka Ward Has Been Decided
From among the entries submitted by children of Naka Ward, the catchphrase was selected through a vote by ward residents.
A logo inspired by the catchphrase has also been completed.
<Comment from Hiyori Tomikawa who created the catchphrase>
I created the catchphrase with the image of the sea breeze layered with the history and emotions of the past, becoming a driving force that moves into the future.

The 3rd Term Multicultural Coexistence Promotion Action Plan Begins!
Up to now, the Naka Ward Office has been working to create an environment where foreign residents who move to the area can learn about Japan’s systems and rules, as well as build connections with the local community. These efforts aim to create a town where everyone can live comfortably, regardless of nationality or roots. In the “3rd Term Naka Ward Multicultural Coexistence Promotion Action Plan,” these efforts will be further advanced, connecting various “differences”—such as culture and values—into the unique appeal of the community.
Vision: A Town Where Differences Become Strength — Naka Ward
Naka Ward is home to people of diverse nationalities and backgrounds, rich in many kinds of “differences,” including culture and values.
We aim to turn this diversity into various forms of “strength” for Naka Ward, such as community vitality and attractiveness.
Pillar 1: Living Together in Naka Ward
We will create an environment where foreign residents who are newly starting their lives here can smoothly adapt to life in Japan, including providing daily life consultations at the Naka International Lounge.
Pillar 2: Understanding One Another
Through initiatives such as awareness-raising using easy Japanese, we will promote smooth communication and deepen mutual understanding so people can live together and respect each other.
Pillar 3: Creating Community Appeal Through Multicultural Coexistence [NEW]
We will create the unique appeal of Naka Ward through multicultural coexistence, including hosting events such as the “Naka Ward Multi-cultural Festival,” where foreign residents can express their ideas and perspectives.
