Detamachi Pier
Construction of Detamachi Pier began in 1952 and four berths (a total berth length of 516m) were completed in 1963. This pier has transit sheds with fumigation and controlled temperature facilities especially for bananas and fruits/vegetables. It is the main unloading site for fruits and vegetables including bananas and pineapples, so that the pier is sometimes referred to as “the banana pier”.
