Incentive programs for environmentally friendly vessels

In order to promote the Port of Yokohama's environmental initiatives both domestically and internationally, and to strengthen its international competitiveness, an incentive program has been in place since April 2009 to promote port calls by environmentally friendly vessels.

Incentive programs

All sea-going vessels with a score of 30 points or more on the ESI*
and Green Award Foundation certified sea-going vessels

LNG-fueled vessels
(LNG carriers are excluded)

LNG bunkering vessels
(LNG bunkering vessels which can also bunker another fuel)

Methanol-fueled vessels

Vessels that have received at least 300 tons of biofuel
blend with a ratio of 24% or higher, at the Port of Yokohama

 *Environmental Ship Index program operated by International Association of Ports and Harbors.
