The City of Yokohama was awarded Special Mention at the Lee Kuan Yew World City Prize Forum in World Cities Summit 2014 on 2nd June 2014.
Yokohama has overcome its urban challenges faced over the last 40 years through brilliant partnership with its citizens and stakeholders. Taking this prize winnig as an opportunity, we hope to promote exchanges for urban solutions among cities, and spur further innovation in the area of sustainable urban development.

- What's Lee Kuan Yew World City Prize?
The Lee Kuan Yew World City Prize is a biennial international award that honors outstanding achievements and contributions to the creation of liveable, vibrant and sustainable urban communities around the world. This award was established in 2010 and is co-organized by the Urban Redevelopment Authority of Singapore (URA) and the Centre for Liveable Cities (CLC).

- Singapore International Water Week (Parallel Event with World Cities Summit)
The Singapore International Water Week (SIWW) is the global platform to share and co-create innovative water solutions. SIWW is held in parallel with World Cities Summit. It comprised the Water Leaders Summit, Water Convention, Water Expo and Business Forums, culminates in the presentation of the Lee Kuan Yew Water Prize, a prestigious international water award to recognize outstanding contributions towards solving global water problems. JFE Engineering Corporation, HITACHI, Ltd., Yokohama Water Business Association and so on, which are related to our projects, ran booths at Water Expo.
