Yokohama's global vision outlined in "City of Yokohama International Strategy" (revised February 2021) pamphlet

Drafted in 2015, broadly looking ahead to 2020, the City of Yokohama International Strategy coordinates the city’s basic approach to international projects, and by providing a strategic approach, links to the city’s further growth.

In the five years since the document was released, the world has seen various changes take place. Escalation of global issues like climate change and infectious diseases has led to increased momentum towards achieving the SDGs. Domestically, the qualifications for resident status have been expanded to accept more workers from overseas. And in 2018, the city adopted the “City of Yokohama Resolution to Promote World Peace”.

Based on these developments, we have revised the City of Yokohama International Strategy to refine the city’s strategic approach to international projects, strive to become a preferred destination for people and businesses from around the world, and contribute to the peace and prosperity of the international community.
