COVID-19 Vaccinations

An appointment is required to get the vaccine.

Vaccine appointments (Yokohama residents age 65 and older are eligible)

1 Individual vaccinations (get the vaccine at a hospital or clinic)

Appointments for individual vaccinations can be made either of two ways:
(1) by making an appointment with the health care facility directly, or (2) by making an appointment via the online Yokohama appointments website or appointments call center.

2 Mass vaccinations (at public assembly halls, sports centers, etc.)

(NOTICE) Appointments have closed. Appointments may be made in the event of a cancellation up to the day before the opening via the appointments website or call center.
Appointments are not taken at the vaccination venues.

3 Large-scale vaccinations (at Yokohama Hammerhead)

(NOTICE) Appointments have closed. Appointments may be made in the event of a cancellation up to the day before the opening via the appointments call center.
Appointments for this venue cannot be made online.
Also, appointments are not taken at the vaccination venue.

Vaccinations for residents 64 years old or younger

-Individual notices (with vaccine vouchers) are planned to be sent out in waves to every age group in descending order to residents 64 years old or younger starting late June through July.

-Residents not eligible for priority vaccinations (residents with underlying conditions or who work at long term care facilities) may receive an individual notice (with vaccine voucher), but cannot make appointments yet.

-The city will send a separate notice in August or later when residents not eligible for priority vaccinations can get the vaccine.

・It is expected that it will take several days to reach residents after notices are sent out.
・Only residents 12 and older can get the vaccine. Individual notices will be sent out once residents reach 12 years of age.
・Notices to residents 65 years and older were sent out by the end of May.

About the vaccine

・There is no cost to residents to get the vaccine.
・While it is recommended that all residents get the vaccine, it is not mandatory.
Consent is required from each individual or their legal guardian/custodian to get the vaccine.

・Residents who previously made an appointment with the city’s online appointment website or via the call center, but then made a new appointment directly with a health care facility or for a large-scale vaccination venue run by the national government or the city will need to cancel one of the two appointments.
・To cancel an appointment made on the city's appointments website or via the call center, follow the steps on the website or contact the call center.
