Honmoku Shimin Park Fall Festival

This event is packed with activities and features to help you enjoy the fall season to its fullest, including food stalls hosted by local Honmoku-area shops, a natural handicrafts workshop, a pottery bazaar, temple event stalls and more. Visitors can also try their hand at threshing rice grown in the park.

Date and time: Nov. 3 (nat'l holiday), 10:00 a.m.?3:00 p.m.

Sports Recreation Festival

This festival is held every fall. It includes dance performances, physical fitness assessments, free use of workout facilities, the Naka Ward Sports Fun Festival which features a variety of sports-based games, and more.

Date and time: Oct. 22 (Sun.), 9:00 a.m.?5:00 p.m.

Tokyo Bay Thanksgiving Day

Tokyo Bay Thanksgiving Day is an event hosted jointly by local citizens, companies and other private organizations, and national and local government. It encourages people to think of ways to revive ocean environments and provides opportunities for taking action toward this end. This event includes introductions to environmental regeneration technologies and eco-friend products and measures, features marine recreation activities and exhibitions/sale of traditional Tokyo foods, and even boasts on-stage performances and a variety of workshops.

Dates and times: Oct 21 (Sat.) and 22 (Sun.), 10:00 a.m.?5:00 p.m. (ends at 4:30 p.m. on Oct. 22; canceled in the event of poor weather)

Diwali in Yokohama 2017

Diwali is the Indian New Year, a festival where people pray for another year of happiness and celebrate. “Diwali in Yokohama” is held at the same as Diwali in India, so Yokohama residents can enjoy Indian culture.
 Many events are held, featuring Indian food, Indian music, classical and Bollywood style dance, Indian goods and fashion for sale, and a candle light-up.

Yokohama Jazz Promenade 2017

The Yokohama Jazz Promenade is a large scale jazz festival started when Yokohama residents and musicians came together to with the idea of making the whole town their stage.
  Over 1,500 performers participate, including both amateurs and professionals, gathering tens of thousands of spectators to venues, live houses, and street corners in the area around Sakuragicho Station and Kannai Station. Stage events are held in parallel in both paid and free venues, and spectators can wander around visiting whichever venues they desire.

 Date/Time: October 7 (Sat) and October 8 (Sun) 12p.m. - about 9p.m.

 Yokohama Triennale 2017

Yokohama Triennale is an international modern art exhibition held once every three years.
As globalization proliferates rapidly in today's world, tough challenges and transformations including conflicts, refugee crises, immigration-related issues, the UK's leaving of the EU and more have affect us all in big ways.
At this year's Yokohama Triennale, about 40 artists will provides a careful look at our world today through the exhibition of various artistic works.

Event theme: thinking about today's world in terms of connections and isolation

Dates: Aug. 4 (Fri.) to Nov. 5 (Sun.), closed on the 2nd and 4th Thu. of each month

Venues: Yokohama Museum of Art, Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse No. 1, Yokohama Port Opening Memorial Hall, others

Ticket prices: ¥1,800 for adults, ¥1,200 for university and vocational school students, ¥800 for high school students, free for middle school students and younger, and free for persons with disabilities (along with one caregiver per person)
