Oh-oka River Cherry Blossom Festival

With rows of cherry trees all around, this festival offers boat-riding events, live concerts, booths hosted by local neighborhood associations and other organizations, and various other activities and events (including some at night).

Honmoku Sancho Park Cherry Blossom Festival

Enjoy a nodate open-air tea ceremony accompanied by koto performances under the cherry blossoms.

Date and time: Apr. 1 (Sun.), 11:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m.
Venue: next to Honmoku Sancho Rest House
Open-air tea ceremony: max. 50 participants, ¥500 per person (includes tea and accompanying confection)

Honmoku Cherry Blossom Festival

During the festival period, the "Cherry Blossom Menu Grand Prix" and other cherry-blossom-related events are held at Yokohama Sankeien Garden, Honmoku Sancho Park, and participating shops and facilities along Honmoku-odori Street. For details, search for "本牧さくら祭り" and "本牧さくら祭りマップ" on Facebook.

Smiling Fair

This event offers opportunities to have fun while learning about disaster-preparedness and –prevention in relation to earthquakes. Activities include lessons on fire extinguisher usage and CPR, a strong-earthquake simulation using an earthquake simulator vehicle, emergency food supply tastings, sale of disaster-preparedness goods, a live demonstration of emergency water supply operations, and more!

Drop By Odori Park!

Odori Park, which is usually a very quiet place, becomes a bustling open-air cafe for four days in March! Visit this park for yourself and experience its temporary transformation while relaxing and spending some time playing outdoors.

On March 21 (a national holiday), try your hand at climbing and other athletic activities based on the events to be featured at the 2020 Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic Games. There will also be an area hosting old-fashioned games and toys.

Mugita Regional Exchange Festival

Enjoy a festival packed with fun. Features include handmade food and craft booths set up by volunteers; shops selling specialty goods from Tohoku; performances by taiko drum groups, choirs and bands; and even games!

Yokohama Three Towers Day 2018

Yokohama is famous for its three towers: the "Jack" (Yokohama Port Opening Memorial Hall), "Queen" (Yokohama Customs) and "King" (Kanagawa Prefectural Government Building). Tower-related events are held every year, with most at the Yokohama Port Opening Memorial Hall. This year's events will center around a dance theme and include local product exhibitions, Yokohama Scarf "ambassadors," photo ops with the mascot character Swingy, the Port Opening Cafe and more!

Enjoy World Dance! (1:00–3:30 p.m.)
This event serves as a stage for world dance including flamenco, samba, Indian dance and even Yokohama's own "Hama Cha-Cha." A dance workshop will also be held (sign-up starts at 12:30 p.m.).

Indian Film Screening (2:00–4:30 p.m.)
Dance is a huge part of Indian film! Introducing an Indian movie with plenty of dance scenes to enjoy.

Climb the Jack Tower (numbered tickets passed out from 10:00 a.m.)
This event offers the chance to climb a tower that is normally closed to the public!
