 Nōryō Garden Festival 2017

Let’s enjoy Tohoku sake, food, Korean cuisine, etc., while being refreshed by a natural breeze!
There will also be various fun events such as live concerts.

Pikachu Outbreak

The city-center event "More Than Just One: Pikachu Outbreak in Yokohama!" will be held in the Minato Mirai district. More than 1,500 incarnations of the well-known character Pikachu will make appearances!
The Pikachu Carnival Parade, the biggest of its kind in history, will take part along Nihon-odori Boulevard on Monday, August 14. Based on a carnival theme, this large-scale parade is designed to thrill spectators and liven up the town.
Furthermore, this year's "Pikachu over the Sky & on the Sea" display will make for even more impressive sights and photo opportunities throughout Minato Mirai.

YC&AC 40th Annual Bon Odori Festival

The annual Bon Dance Festival will be held at the Yokohama Country & Athletic Club (YC&AC). In addition to traditional Bon dance performances, barbecue-grilled hamburgers, kebabs, buchimgae (Korean savory pancakes), nagashi-somen (somen noodles served in small flumes filled with cold water), and other such foods will be served at a diversely international array of food stalls. Watermelon-splitting events (at 5:30 p.m. on both days) and games will also be available. Admission is free of charge.

Dates and times: Aug. 5 (Sat.) and 6 (Sun.), 5:00–9:00 p.m.

Yokohama Triennale 2017

Yokohama Triennale is an international modern art exhibition held once every three years.
As globalization proliferates rapidly in today's world, tough challenges and transformations including conflicts, refugee crises, immigration-related issues, the UK's leaving of the EU and more have affect us all in big ways.
At this year's Yokohama Triennale, about 40 artists will provides a careful look at our world today through the exhibition of various artistic works.

Event theme: thinking about today's world in terms of connections and isolation

Dates: Aug. 4 (Fri.) to Nov. 5 (Sun.), closed on the 2nd and 4th Thu. of each month

Venues: Yokohama Museum of Art, Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse No. 1, Yokohama Port Opening Memorial Hall, others

Ticket prices: ¥1,800 for adults, ¥1,200 for university and vocational school students, ¥800 for high school students, free for middle school students and younger, and free for persons with disabilities (along with one caregiver per person)

Cool off and get some exercise at your local pool this summer!

Pool season : Saturday,July 8 - Sunday, September 10

 Motomachi Park Pool (Motomachi Chukagai Station)
 Hours & Cost: 9am - 6pm : 200 yen per hour
                       6pm - 9pm : 300 yen per hour

(During September 4 to 9: 9am - 5pm only)

 Note :Day session for Grade 4 and above. Night session for junior high school and above. Younger children may swim if accompanied into the pool by an adult (one adult per child required in such cases and to wear their suimsuits.)Preschool children not admitted.

Yamate Seiyokan Summer Concert 2017

How about enjoying nice music at the seven historical western residences?

From July to August, mainly on Saturdays and Sundays, volunteer performers will give free concerts.
