  Yamanouchi PIER

photo Yamanouchi Pier, along with Takashima Pier, was developed for domestic trade. After World War 2, it was used for ships on Southeast Asia and Middle East/Near East route services.

The reclamation work began in 1988 to develope a new berth and the Portside Arterial Road. In May 1993, the new berth came into operation. This new berth was built to be earthquake-resistant, so it will be capable of bringing in urgent supplies in times of emergency.

Moreoever, in 1996, a new shed began operation.
