photo Detamachi Pier began in 1952 and two berths were completed in 1954. Two more berths were later developed between 1958 and1963.

This pier has transit sheds specially for bananas and fruits/vegetables. It is also the main unloading site for bananas handled at the Port of Yokohama. Thus this pier is sometimes referred to as "the banana pier".

Cargo handling volume in 2009 was 302,068 tons.
