Yokohama Port Official Visits Port of Vancouver as a trainee of the siter ports exchange program
The Port of Yokohama and the Port of Vancouver concluded the Sister Ports Agreement on May 15th, 1981. Since then, various exchanges, such as those of delegations and information, have been implemented. In July 2009 – the 150th Anniversary of the Opening of the Port of Yokohama –its sister ports gathered in Yokohama at the World Ports Seminar 2009 and declared to foster exchanges. Based on this consensus, an engineer from the Port of Yokohama visited the Port of Vancouver to study Vancouver’s futuristic plan, environmental measures and port maintenance from October 20th to 26th as a new exchange program.
