What is the Y-PORT Project?
In emerging countries in Asia and other region of the world, infrastructure development and environmental measures are in urgent need considering the rapid population concentration brought about by remarkable economic development. Not only overseas countries/cities but the Japanese government and international organizations have high expectations for Yokohama City’s urban development and technological capabilities together with know-hows of private enterprises.
Since January 2011, the City of Yokohama has been promoting the Y-PORT, Yokohama Partnership of Resources and Technologies, which is an international technical cooperation project through a public-private partnership that harnesses Yokohama’s technology and know-hows to contribute to the emerging countries.
As of April 1st, 2015, the Development Cooperation Division of International Affairs Bureau is in charge of Y-PORT project.
