【Statement by the Director General】
I am happy to serve as the director general for the upcoming Yokohama Triennale 2011. The Yokohama Triennale has served as the one of the main programs in promoting the Creative City policy of Yokohama in the last decade. As we now enter into a new decade, it is important to explore ways to not only get a return on the past investments, but also to find ways to sustain this kind of event that brings us new ideas and perspectives and enable us to survive this age of uncertainty.
I hope that the Triennale will serve as a channel for exchanging new thoughts, just like Yokohama that has historically served as the gateway for new knowledge and ideas. (OSAKA Eriko, Director, Yokohama Museum of Art / Director General, Yokohama Triennale 2011)
