The school aims to nurture scientists that will contribute actively on the world stage, and includes in its curriculum a class called Science Literacy where students learn in a series of steps, not only logically investigating questions that spring from the students intellectual curiosity about advanced science and technology, but also working towards presenting their research results in Japanese and English. The school, therefore, plans to becoming involved in international exchange programs with partner schools overseas and overseas study trips, and decided to engage in exchange with a local international school to broaden opportunities for international exchange further.
0Meanwhile, Saint Maur is well-subscribed as the international school that boasts the longest history in Japan, and contains a mix of students from a wide range of countries. However, the school s science laboratories and other facilities have grown old over the years and the school wanted its students to take lessons in an environment with new facilities. As an international school with deep roots in Yokohama, Saint Maur was also looking for the chance to contribute to society by providing Yokohama residents with the opportunity to become more globally minded. The recent alliance achieved exactly what the two schools were looking for.
0Under the exchange program, students from Saint Maur will take part in experiments, practicals and lessons in advanced science and technology at Yokohama Science Frontier High School and at the same time students from Yokohama Science Frontier High School will give presentations and take part in discussions in English at Saint Maur.
